Andrey Slijsartschuk was a renowned brain surgeon with strong connections to Ukrainian political circles. He played against chess computers defeating them blindfolded and self-reportedly obtained his doctorate at the age of 21.
He presented himself next to the president, won awards and treated privileged patients with serious illnesses.
Until a reporter initiated some research after an interview: She determined that instead of cured patients he had a list of (at least) 12 fatalities. Diploma and doctorate were forged, and medical studies never pursued.
